I am working through the challenge in an order that suits me best, instead of directly following the set challenge order. Feel free to do the same!

Day 10: Simplify your life - cull your goals

Day 10 in the official challenge is actually ‘makeup‘ but I did this weeks ago. So today we are covering what is officially Day 23 of the challenge: “cull your goals”. This is a continuation of the mental decluttering phase of the challenge.

Cull your goals

I’ve said it once before: I’m not huge on setting goals. I prefer to have a general idea of where I want to be and then simply take every opportunity that comes my way in order to get there. So like the last challenge, this one wasn’t entirely successful for me.

The first step in the challenge was to list off all of your current goals and then take a moment to prioritise them.

This is a vague list of my current ‘goals’ (which I don’t really consider as goals, more just things that I need to get done)

  • Complete my coffee table DIY
  • Organise bridal shower
  • Restart yoga habit every morning
  • Create a downloadable related to one of my blog posts
  • Grow blog

Once you have your list of goals, you are supposed to prioritise them and then cull any that are less important and that you don’t want to waste your brain power on.

Of course, I did not cull any.

My top three goals in order are: organise bridal shower, complete coffee table DIY and restart yoga habit. But the other 2 goals are both related to my blog and therefore I don’t want to cut them because they give me purpose and direction.

So that’s another unsuccessful week of mental decluttering done. But I suppose I at least know my priorities now. Next week’s challenge will be far more interesting, I promise. It involves the creation of the world’s longest to do list and it is very satisfying. So I know the last couple of challenges have been pretty dull but hang in there, it will get better!
